It was the summer of 2014 and what better way to spend it than summer school at Brebeuf. Matthew was taking data management, and Loren roamed the halls as the attendance lady, little did Matthew know - numbers weren’t the only thing on his mind that summer.

He approached her in a snapback and sperry’s, and even after Loren dubbed him a ‘hockey tool’, she agreed to go on a date with him to the classiest restaurant in the city - Jack Astors at Yonge and Dundas. The following evening, Loren had one too many sangrias and proceeded to talk on the phone with Matthew for five hours straight, the night before his exam…and he still got a 95. From that night on, Loren knew that if Matthew could keep up with her yapping, that he was the one.

Loren and Matthew had the privilege of growing together, through countless part-time jobs (including luxurious KFC x Taco Bell), both going to Ryerson University, growing in their respective careers, and eventually moving into their first home together. Then an angel appeared, in the form of a 6lb chihuahua and they became parents to a beautiful baby girl, Penny.

Fast forward a year later, and the (overdue) day had come, Matthew put on his big boy pants, got down on one knee and surprised Loren with the ultimate proposal, followed by a trip to NYC to celebrate.
